Hello from Food Label News.
When it comes to food labels, there is an art to keeping
customers happy. For the last 23 years, we've helped our
customers resolve all kinds of food label-related issues. We
share some via case studies beginning this month: A
complicated private label product line for a major retailer.
Look for additional case studies in coming issues to learn
about other problems we help solve. In addition, we
address creating a single label for a product sold in U.S. and
Mexico. Please let us know what issues are on your mind!

Q. |
Can I create a single label for my food product that
will work for distribution in both U.S. and Mexico? I
know it would need to be in both English and Spanish.
− W.R., Arizona, Importer |
A. |
Until recently this was allowable for
some circumstances. However, several changes in Mexico's
NOM-051 regulations as of August 2014 no longer make it
possible to create one label that will satisfy both
countries' requirements.
